Rev. Teri Meyer, Acting Indigenous Minister
It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Rev. Teri Meyer as our acting Indigenous Minister (.5 FTE), effective January 1st for a one year term. Teri will continue to serve in a half-time appointment in Kitimat with folks who are excited to explore ways to partner and support Indigenous Ministries throughout the Region.
Teri brings an extensive background in ministry, deeply rooted in ministry throughout our Region having served in Quesnel, Kamloops, Terrace and most recently Kitimat. Throughout her ministry Teri has been connected with Pacific Mountain Indigenous Ministries and has built meaningful connections.
Teri is a certified Restorative Community Justice Forum Facilitator (CJF) and Facilitator Trainer, with further Restorative Justice certification through Simon Fraser University and other RJ programs in BC (Victim-Offender Conferencing and the Peacemaking Circle models). Teri is also a certified Healing Pathway Practitioner, and trained in offering Indigenous tools for how to work and sit with complex trauma, through the "Indigenous Tools for Living" workshop.
Transformative justice and healing practices for individuals and communities are integral to Teri's practice of ministry. Teri's extensive experience, dedication to Indigenous communities, and unwavering commitment to healing and reconciliation make her well-qualified for this role.

Rev. John Snow Jr., Indigenous Minister
Rev. John Snow is currently on leave.
John is a direct descendant of Treaty 7 signatories and a member of the Stoney Tribe. He is a sun-dancer and pipe-holder in the Nakoda Tradition, and holds an M.A. in Political Science in Public Policy, Law and Administration from the University of Calgary. John is a seasoned speaker, instructor and negotiator for technical oil and gas who has worked with provincial and federal governments to advise on policy, guided by the Treaties, the TRC, and UNDRIP. John has provided insight on Indigenous ways and history by giving presentations and instructing Indigenous courses for Youth to post-graduates, and for the United Church and the Morley Ecumenical Conference. John has served the United Church of Canada as a student minister in Maskwacis, as a member of the Permanent Committee on Finance, Chinook Winds Regional Executive, and the National Indigenous Council. Hello Everyone,
I pray that everyone, your families and communities are well and calm. Here is the written worship that I’ve created for you, for this Good Friday. Here also is a prayer for during the COVID-19 pandemic, provided by Rev. Barry Morris- thank you for this message Barry.
Please take the time to read and reflect and send it to those that need to hear the message of Good Friday. The write up is long but meaningful. It includes the Passion story as told by John, with prayers through the story to give support and spiritual reflection to the time of Good Friday. And prayer is a humble gift that is always needed, is always free, is always heard by our Creator. This Good Friday, reflect with the Passion story of Christ Jesus, and share with those around you the gift of prayer. And always remember Jesus’ last commandment to us, love one another.
