Lay Leadership Support Committee

The Lay Leadership Support Committee (LLSC) is part of the Pastoral Relations Council. It is the cascading committee that provides support and information to lay leaders and Licensed Lay Worship Leaders in the Pacific Mountain Regional Council. We oversee and coordinate the Region’s responsibility to provide ongoing leadership training for lay leaders, regarding the areas of:

  • building the capacity of lay leaders who are called to serve in communities of faith
  • training, educating, and resourcing lay leaders
  • supporting the growth of theologically literate and spiritually grounded lay leaders
  • creating networks of support for lay leaders in similar roles across the region
  • working with Licensed Lay Worship Leaders (LLWL) and Sacraments Elders by:
    • recommending action on licensing, providing ongoing support/oversight of Licensed Lay Worship Leaders,
    • providing training and assessment of Sacraments Elders
    • maintaining lists, supporting networks and clusters related to LLWL and Sacraments Elders
    • maintaining the list of Licensed Lay Worship Leaders (LLWL) and Sacraments Elders.

The Lay Leadership Support Committee is made up of volunteers from throughout the region and one regional council staff person, Gail Miller Regional Minister Staff.
