CYT Program Schedule
Thursday, May 30, 2024
- From 1 pm Registration is open in STAW’s sanctuary – there will be posters directing you to registration.
- 2 pm Children and Young Teen Participants (CYT) begins. Directions to the program space will be given at Registration
- 5:30pm CYT Supper — They will be with their groups and eat dinner together and attend program together.
- 8:30 pm CYT will be picked up from their programming spaces.
Friday, May 31, 2024
- 8:30 am CYT Programs start. Our program time will include morning snack, lunch and afternoon snacks.
- Early afternoon – there will be an option to go swimming with the group at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre (walking)
- 5:30 pm CYT end for the day. We ask that you pick up your children and youth participants from their programming spaces at 5:30 pm, before dinner so that you might eat with them and attend the celebration of Affirming Connections on Friday evening. The Rainbow Chorus from New Westminster, BC will be singing as well as a film screening of the film, 1946. During the film screening, there will be an area of the sanctuary set up for children and youth for quiet activities.
Saturday, June 1, 2024
- 8:30 am CYT starts
- Our program time will include morning snack, lunch and afternoon snacks.
- From 11 am – 2 pm, CYT and their leaders will go to the Vancouver Planetarium (by public transit)
- 5:30 pm CYT Programs end for the weekend. We ask that you pick up your children and youth participants from their programming spaces at 5:30 pm, before dinner so that you might eat with them and attend the Sing! Sing! Sing! Party together.
Sunday, June 2, 2024
- 10:30 am Celebration of Ministry Service — CYT participants will attend with their adult(s). A children’s program is offered during worship for children ages up to 10 years of age, should they wish to participate. Youth are present in worship the entire time. We encourage you to be early to this service to get a good seat! You may also want to pack a small snack and a water bottle.

Pacific Mountain Region’s First Third Ministry staff and volunteers are excited to welcome people ages 8 – 14 years old to CYT@AMG (Children & Young Teens at Annual General Meeting)! Older youth wanting to attend AGM 2024 are encouraged to connect with Youth Council and/ or become and Elected Lay Representative from their community of faith. If you’re not sure how to do either, contact the First Third Ministry office or chat with your home church minister or youth group leader.
Registration
Children and Young Teens who are 8-14 years are welcome to join CYT@AGM2024! All CYT@AGM participants must be in the care of either a Parent/Guardian or Designated Sponsor who are also registered for AGM 2024. Pick your registration form based on who your Child or Young Teen is coming to AGM 2024 with!

Children & Youth Teens @ AMG
For People 8-14 Years Old
Thursday May 30 – Saturday June 1, 2024
On-Site at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United, Downtown Vancouver BC
This First Third Ministry program follows the same hours as the general meeting schedule. CYT@AGM opens Thursday May 30, runs Friday May 31, and closes with the adjournment of the AGM on Saturday June 1. There is no program or other supervision on Sunday June 2Â (Celebration of Ministry day).
CYT@AGM is not an overnight program!
- At the end of each day, CYT participants are reunited with their Parent/Guardian or Designated Sponsor, who they remain in the care of until the next day’s First Third Ministry check-in time.
- Vancouver Locals sleep at home.
- From-Out-of-Towners sleep wherever their Parent/ Guardian or Designated Sponsor is sleeping. Finding/ booking accommodation is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian. Community of Faiths usually have funds in the budget to help cover the cost of AGM accommodation.
- Travel costs are reimbursed by Pacific Mountain Regional Council, but travel plans are the responsibility of the Parent/ Guardian.
Program Time & Plenary Time
CYT@AMG program includes time in the Annual General Meeting plenary!
- During CYT Program Time, participants will share activities, build community, and learn about the United Church in both age-specific streams (Children’s Stream / Young Teens Stream) and as a whole group.
- During AGM Plenary Time, CYT participants will be in the main meeting room of the general meeting called ‘plenary’, to share in worship, learning, and celebrations of the Pacific Mountain Regional Council.
