Anna Carter Florence

Anna Carter Florence is the Peter Marshall Professor of Preaching at Columbia Theological Seminary and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). A graduate of Yale University and Princeton Theological Seminary, she is the author of several books on preaching and Scripture, including A Is for Alabaster. Her work explores testimony, preaching, and creative approaches to engaging the biblical text in contemporary contexts. Anna is a sought-after preacher and teacher who works with communities across the U.S. and beyond, helping people encounter Scripture in fresh, meaningful, and transformative ways.

Travel and Related Expenses Reimbursement Policy

Children and Young Teens at the AGM

Pacific Mountain Region will be offering a two day program for children & young teens ages 7-15 as part of the AGM on Thursday Friday and Saturday. The Children's Program will run parallel to the AGM with arts, games and other activities in the community.

Online Access and Engagement - On Pheedloop

WHEREVER – AND HOWEVER – YOU ATTEND, YOU WILL BE WELCOMED AND HOSTED!

The region’s goal is for off-site and on-site participants to experience a deeper level of connection with the life and work, and community, of PMRC AGM 2026. This year we have switched to a Canadian Company pheedloop. If you sign up to virtually attend the AGM, you will have the opportunity to attend pheedloop info and training session Monday, May 25, at 10:00am PT or Wednesday, May 27 at 7:00pm PT. We will email zoom links to attend these sessions to anyone who has registered for the AGM as an online participant.

Regional Council Nominations

Members of the Regional Council Executive (RCE) collectively represent the ownership in determining, monitoring and ensuring appropriate organizational performance. The Executive produces written governing policies that address (at the broadest level) Ends, Executive-Staff Relationship, Executive Minister Limitations, and Governance Process. The RCE is accountable to the ownership, reporting to the General Meeting and regularly informing communities of faith of its work. We currently have 3 vacancies and are seeking 2 members.

FINANCIAL FORUM

In preparation for the Annual General Meeting, the Pacific Mountain Region Finance Advisory Council will be hosting an online session on May 27 1:00-2:30pm, to present the regional council’s 2026 financials, and take questions.

CREATING A CULTURE OF COOPERATION

Lay Leaders and volunteers are invited to a free workshop June 3-4 at Kamloops United Church with the The Lay Leadership Support Team. We'll explore common partnerships, handling conflict, and attracting volunteers.

APARTHEID FREE COMMUNITIES

On June 4, 10am- 2pm at Kamloops United Church, explore living out our 2025 Regional Apartheid-Free Communities Pledge. Learn about the Quaker roots of the movement, develop your communication skills around anti-apartheid and anti-Zionist dialogue, and connect with the vibrant networks of Palestinian Solidarity work in our region.
