Welcome, Alexandra! PMRC’s new Admin & Receptionist

Alexandra Barr began yesterday, October 18, in her role as Administrator and Receptionist for the Pacific Mountain Regional Council. We are very excited to welcome her to the team, and grateful for the experience Alexandra brings to the role. Here is more about our newest staff member:

Alexandra grew up in Richmond, British Columbia, and is a recent graduate of Queen’s University. She’s passionate about hockey and is a big fan of science fiction and fantasy (or, in broader terms, ‘nerd stuff’). She graduated with a major in Global Development Studies, a multidisciplinary program in the Social Sciences that focuses on social justice, the political economy, and policy change. Alexandra’s studies led her to internships at the International Telecommunications Union (general intern) at the United Nations in New York City, and at the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime (communications intern) in Geneva, Switzerland. An avid baker and cat lover, Alexandra is very slowly trying to learn to speak Estonian. Social justice is very close to her heart, and Alexandra’s thrilled to be working at the Pacific Mountain Regional Office.
