Friends across the Regional Council,
it’s truly the season of transitions and many council and working group positions are open. The Nominations Committee would LOVE for people across our regional council to consider a-new, a call to serving our church in these engaging and important ways. Below is a quick overview of the positions open, with full details on the Job & Opportunities page.
- Pastoral Relations Council: Are you interesting in the work of policy, practice, and procedure? The Pastoral Relations Council is seeking 3-5 new members to help support the mission of the PMRC. The Terms of Reference outline the role of the Pastoral Relations Council and its sub-committees. To achieve diversity in our membership, we are seeking specifically, but not limited to: younger folx, Indigenous and Racialized Members, Diaconal Ministers and Laity.Â
- Pastoral Relations Working Group: Do you like paperwork and reviewing call and appointment forms for ministry personnel moving to, from and within the Region? The Pastoral Relations Council is seeking 1 new member. The Terms of Reference for the Pastoral Relations Council describe the role of the Pastoral Relations Working Group (on page 2). To achieve diversity in our membership, we are seeking specifically, but not limited to: Indigenous and Racialized Members.
- Lay Leadership (Support) Committee: Do you have a desire to promote the role of lay people in your community of faith and surrounding area? The Lay Leadership Committee is seeking 1 new member. The Terms of Reference for the Pastoral Relations Council describe the responsibility of the Lay Leadership (Support) Committee (on page 2). To achieve diversity in our membership, we are seeking specifically, but not limited to: Indigenous and Racialized members, Designated Lay or Laity.
- Finance Advisory Council: Are you a money person? The Finance Advisory Council makes recommendations to the Executive Minister about the future financial plan for the Pacific Mountain Regional Council. The FAC is seeking 2 – 3 new members; the Terms of Reference are found here.
- 3-Point Housing Society: The 3 Point Housing Society is an Incorporated Society (BC) and non-profit organization whose purpose is to acquire, develop and operate non-profit residential accommodations, providing affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households.
- Community Renewal Society: The Community Renewal Society exists to advance religion by providing support to congregations and other ministries of The Untied Church of Canada particularly by encouraging congregational renewal, establishing, developing, maintaining, repairing and improving places of worship, supporting the creation of alternative models of ministry and new forms of communities of faith, and relieving poverty through residential accommodation. The work of the CRS are closely tied to the work and priorities of the Pacific Mountain Regional Council.
