Pacific Mountain’s Town Hall Gathering ~ The First of 2024!

Dear friends,
Thank you for your patience with the late hour of this announcement, and as the regional office and team have been equipping new staff and rolling into all that this new year already holds!
We’re pleased to continue with the pattern of offering the online, region-wide Town Hall gathering on the second Wednesday of each month. We hope all who can join (either via Zoom or via a phone number), do! This week’s access details are on the event post in our PMR Calendar.

This Month’s Guests!

This Wednesday’s town hall gathering will see Executive Minister, Treena Duncan welcoming regional staff, Kendra Mitchel-Foster, sharing about Justice and Affirming Ministry in PMR, and introducing Scott Reynolds, the national staff Growth Animator, who is now serving Pacific Mountain and Chinook Winds regional councils!

Justice and Affirming Ministry in Pacific Mountain Region:
  • The new PMR Justice Minister, Kendra Mitchell-Foster will guide us through a time of exploring how Affirming Ministry might flourish at the regional level, and we might live more fully into our Affirming Region workplan in both the short and middle term. A quick overview of justice work, and her background will lead us into a space of visioning and conversation.
Growth Animator National Initiative & Staff Welcome:
  • Executive Minister, Treena Duncan will be introducing Scott Reynolds, and sharing a bit about how the Growth Animator position aims to engage and encourage communities of faith within our region.
Rev. Scott Reynolds is now serving as the Growth Animator within the Pacific Mountain and Chinook Winds Regions.  Scott just finished serving for seven and a half years as the minister of the Irma-Viking/Kinsella Pastoral Charge in rural Alberta. Scott looks forward to walking with communities of faith as they discern how to best share the message of Jesus and live out Christ’s call to love God and love their neighbours. Scott has experience working with people of all ages, in both team and solo ministry, in both urban and rural contexts, and in both Alberta and British Columbia. Scott believes that individuals and communities thrive when they are committed to spiritual practice, and he will bring gifts of listening, creativity, visioning, and discernment as he supports communities of faith within the two Regions as they seek to grow.
Pacific Mountain Region Town Hall

For those new to the region’s town hall practice, all are warmly invited to join Executive Minister Treena Duncan for this monthly online gathering. Guest presenters, time of prayer or worship, and regional updates, encouragement, and opportunities for connection make Pacific Mountain Region Town Halls meaningful and relevant! What started in the early weeks of the COVID pandemic as the immediate and safe way to share key information, our town halls have continued to be a valued way for Pacific Mountain region to be in sense of community. The most up-to-date information about scheduled Town Hall times (as sometimes they do see a date or time change) is found on our calendar: PacificMountain.ca/events.

If you’re able to Zoom in, please do!

Blessings,
PMR Office
