Hello, General Meeting Participants!
This year, as last year, LeaderSHIFT and friends will be hosting the GM2023 Online Experience — in real time, from the general meeting venue in Abbotsford, using Whova!
LeaderSHIFT and the regional council have used ‘Whova’ for many events over the past few years. Some were online-only events, and some were events that integrated online and in-person participation (sometimes called a ‘hybrid’ event.). Whether attending this year’s general meeting Online or In-person, ALL attendees have full access to the GM2023 Whova Event platform.
The Whova online platform is for all attendees to use to share some common ground. Our goal: To empower a deep level of cross over connection for all general meeting Attendees, online and in-person.
- If you are a Online Participant, the GM2023 Whova Event is how you will see and participate in the Theme, Worship, Business Discussions, and most other scheduled aspects of the General Meeting. We suggest that online participants log into the GM2023 Whova Event Webpage from a desktop computer or laptop, if possible!
- If you an In-Person Participant, you won’t need the platform to see what’s happening from GM stage, but you’ll love it to socialize and network!
- Using Whova, everyone can chat with all Attendees (whether in-person or online), participate in discussion threads, have quick access to the Agenda, post photos (with people’s permission!), and more. Everyone sees Session Q&As, and can equally initiate and participate in the platform’s tools for sharing ideas, resources, photos, thoughts and hopes. We suggest downloading and using the Whova App on your mobile device for this kind of social engagement, if possible!
And – whether you are planning to be live on the floor of the meeting or virtually on the floor of the meeting, you can connect with others on the GM Whova Platform before the meeting begins!
Accessing GM2023 Whova Event Platform
Please watch for an email from ‘Whova’ that invites you to sign into the GM 2023 Whova event. The email will be auto-sent from the Whova servers, but the welcome message within is written by me!
The invitation email will go to the email address that you submitted when you registered for the general meeting. If you have a few different email addresses or have used Whova in the past, and are having trouble accessing GM2023’s Whova Event, please double check the email that you are trying to use.
Other emails may come from Whova, but not written from me!, that aim to provide tips regarding their platform. Marketing Emails from Whova require no action from you (and have nothing to do with our general meeting event). And! It is a good idea to check all emails as from Whova — incase you miss one of mine that is truly meant for GM2023 Attendees!
And, I am very glad to announce Whova Orientation Sessions are now scheduled! Please go to this post for the times and Zoom link: https://pacificmountain.ca/whova-orientation-sessions-announced/
