"Now is the time to implement a structure of justice making and justice keeping that no longer excuses, rationalizes, and tolerates poverty.” -Former Moderator Carmen Lansdowne
Poverty can happen very quickly to anyone. Our long-standing commitment to calling for a Guaranteed Livable Income first articulated in 1972 took on new resolve and urgency in the pandemic, and we continue to persist today.
The Guaranteed Livable Income Network members of this network are actively at work across the country for change.

Letter Writing
The resource below outlines how individuals, Communities of Faith, and justice groups can take action in support of a Guaranteed Livable Income through coordinated letter-writing campaigns. It includes guidance and sample letters for municipal, provincial/territorial, and Senate advocacy, along with tips for meeting with elected officials and amplifying lived experiences through testimonials. The document also provides background and resources to support advocacy for Bill S-206, a proposed national framework for a Guaranteed Livable Basic Income.
