Temporary Increase to Minimum Mileage Reimbursement Rate

Dear Friends,

To offer clarity regarding the General Council’s “Temporary Increase to Minimum Mileage Reimbursement Rate”, this temporary increase does not apply to our Pacific Mountain Regional Council Travel Policy and reimbursements. The rate described below only affects those who are submitting their expenses to the General Council office (and it does not apply to the PMRC’s upcoming Annual General Meeting or regional council-related work).

As from the General Council office:

Considering the recent spike in gasoline prices and the prediction that they may remain at these levels for some time, the Executive of the General Council meeting April 30, 2022, temporarily increased the minimum mileage reimbursement rate to $0.46/km. This is 75% of the CRA 2022 “reasonable allowance rate . . . for the first 5,000 kilometers driven”. This is effective May 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022. The General Secretary was authorized to extend this temporary increase to December 31, 2022 if fuel prices remain high. This applies to ministry personnel in pastoral relationships, volunteers, elected and appointment positions with the General Council, and staff of the General Council Office.

Blessings,

PMRC Staff
