Provincial Privacy Legislation
In 2004, the Government of British Columbia enacted the Personal Information Protection Act, which governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by private sector organizations.
Each community of faith in the Pacific Mountain Region is responsible for:
- Implementing security measures and controlling use of any records containing personal information
- Preparing and publishing a privacy policy
- Designating a Privacy Officer – someone who will have oversight of the privacy program in your community of faith
