Program Coordinator – the Centre for Uniting People

Position: Program Coordinator
Classification: Part Time, 25 hours per week
Posting Date: Monday July 25, 2022

The CUP (Centre Uniting People) is looking for a Program Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. The successful Candidate will help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties. For this position, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams. If you have further skills in program development and human resources support, we’d like to meet you. The goal will be to facilitate the effective management of programs according to the organization’s standards.

Responsibilities

  • Program coordination – develop, plan and execute cup programs and services
  • Work with community partners to offer new programs and services
  • Meet with potential community partners
  • Grant writing and fundraising
  • Report back to funders and executive director
  • Assess community need Support planning and coordination of programs and activities
  • Ensure implementation of policies and practices
  • Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions
  • Work closely with the Admin and Marketing Assistant to manage communications through media relations, social media etc.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the staff and all external parties
  • Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda
  • Prepare paperwork and order material as necessary
  • Keep updated records and create reports or proposals
  • Support growth and program development
  • Assist with camps and workshops and other activities as needed.
  • Develop and Monitor program policies and practices
  • Community Outreach

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as program coordinator or relevant position
  • Knowledge of program management and development procedures
  • Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, along with social media literacy
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Organization and prioritization skills
  • Budgeting and financial analysis and reporting abilities
  • Administrative skills
  • Active listening and capacity to communicate empathetically
  • Attention to detail and aptitude in long-term planning
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Qualification requirement for Applicants:

  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification (required)
  • Current Clean Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (required)
  • Management Experience and Education is an asset
  • Past experience working in a non-profit organization an asset

Salary:

$25 per hour
