Position Opening: Office of Vocation Minister (PMRC/CWR)

The Theology and Ministry Leadership Unit of The United Church of Canada is seeking an individual to fill the role of Office of Vocation Minister on a permanent full-time basis at 35 hours/week.

The Theology and Ministry Leadership Unit brings together all the pieces relating to leadership, taking seriously the understanding of the ministry of the whole people of God, and includes the Office of Vocation, which is responsible for the assessment, candidacy and accreditation of ministry personnel, the standards of practice and ongoing oversight and, when necessary, discipline, of ministry personnel, and Pastoral Relations, Member Engagement, the work of the Theology and Inter-Church Inter-Faith Committee (TICIF), and  relationships with United Church theological schools.

The Vocation Ministers are part of a team of regionally deployed and General Council Office based staff who support the processes for the discernment, training and the determination of their fitness and readiness for accreditation of ministry personnel, the fulfillment of continuing education standards, and the formal processes for oversight and discipline. Reporting to the Director, Policy and Programs for Ministry Personnel, this position will be supporting the Pacific Mountain and Chinook Winds Regional Councils.
