SUMMARY:Radical Hope: A Clergy Retreat
DESCRIPTION:A LeaderSHIFT Offering with With Rev. Therese DesCamps and Robyn Froese\nRadical Hope: A Clergy Retreat\nMonday April 20 – Thursday April 23\, 2026\nIn-Person at Naramata Centre\n\n\n\n\nRetreat Overview\n\nBeginning 3pm\, Monday\, April 20\nClosing with lunch at 12pm\, Thursday\, April 23\nPrivate accommodation\, all meals and snacks provided\nAfternoon optional experiences included\, such as Healing Touch\, Cranial-Sacral Therapy\, Yoga\, Forest Bathing/Wild Church\, and Spiritual Direction\n\nRegistration Information\n\n$775 per person (private accommodation)\nRegistration: https://app.amilia.com/store/en/chinook-pacific-uccan/shop/programs/98110?subCategoryIds=6316175\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThough the fig tree does not blossom and no fruit is on the vines;\nthough the produce of the olive fails and the fields yield no food… yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the God of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:17-18) \nThe prophet Habakkuk lived in a time of great turmoil and injustice. His short three-chapter book condemns both the corruption of his own people and the brutality of their enemies. Yet at the end of the book\, as Habakkuk faces into famine and destruction\, he sings of joy. \nWhat enables this kind of hope? Is this a delusion\, a spiritual bypass\, a vindictive taunt of Israel’s enemies? Or is Habakkuk actually filled with a radical hope that is not dependent on good outcomes? And if this is radical hope\, how do we get some of that? \nOur time together at Naramata will explore how we face into the storm of the world we live in; how we are connected (and why this is wonderful and awful at the same time); our work of giving attention; how we allow prayer to heal and equip us; and the sacramental practice of letting go. \nYou can expect to leave this retreat feeling refreshed. Better yet\, you can expect to identify the practices that will work in your own life\, to settle more deeply into your own call to ministry\, to connect with others for mutual support\, and to rest in a radical revision of hope. \nFor more information and registration: Radical Hope Clergy Retreat — LeaderSHIFT UCCan

SUMMARY:Radical Hope: A Clergy Retreat
DESCRIPTION:A LeaderSHIFT Offering\nRadical Hope: A Clergy Retreat\nMonday September 29 – Thursday October 2\, 2025\nIn-Person at Naramata Centre\nThe prophet Habakkuk lived in a time of great turmoil and injustice. \nClick here for more information and registration!

SUMMARY:Church Planters Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Photo Credit to D. Sharon Pruitt \nChurch Planting is a broad term that refers to starting new communities of faith for the benefit of those who are not yet part of the Church. These may start in various forms\, and usually have the capacity to develop into ‘mature’ expressions of ‘word\, sacrament and pastoral care’ – though that might look very different then many existing congregations or pastoral charges. We deliberately engage this metaphor of gardening and tilling as a way to express the organic and ecological nature of starting new communities of faith. \nIf you are interested please contact Rob Shearer the Regional Minister for LeaderSHIFT Church Planting Project (LLCP).  He can be reached by email or phone +1-778-977-7562. \n

SUMMARY:Living Generously Stewardship Webinar 3 ~ Who Do They Say You Are?
DESCRIPTION:With LeaderSHIFT and Vicki Nelson\, Community of Faith Stewardship Support\nThis free webinar series is supported by LeaderSHIFT\, The United Church of Canada\, Pacific Mountain Regional Council\, Chinook Winds Regional Council. It’s for church leaders – clergy and lay – to explore ways to encourage\, support\, and talk about church finances and givings. \nAs leaders\, with passion and deep involvement in our communities of faith\, we often think we are putting out clear and welcoming messaging about our theology and culture. But we have found that too often our neighbours do not know us at all. This 60 minute session will allow church leaders to dip their toe into considering your community of faith’s call\, and how best to share that true and awesome spirit with the wider world. \nONLINE ONLY\, VIA ZOOM\nRegistration & Information at Living Generously: A Stewardship Webinar Series
