Children & Youth Ministries Leader
Cloverdale United Church, a congregation of The United Church of Canada located in Surrey, British Columbia, is seeking a new Children & Youth Ministries Leader to provide leadership for our faith formation and Christian education ministries for, with, and among children and youth. We are a welcoming, historic, and progressive Christian community that spans the generations and enjoys an active Intercultural ministry. The successful applicant will be expected to provide guidance, ensure resources, plan activities, facilitate volunteer leadership, and engage in direct teaching, care, and leadership with the children and youth of our community of faith. We are seeking an individual with a passion for nurturing children and youth as persons and as disciples of Jesus Christ within an environment that is open-minded, progressive, and inclusive while being unapologetically and unequivocally Christian. We hope for an individual with creativity and skill, able to adapt existing material and programs and eager to engage social media and other new technologies. The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate strong planning and communication skills, along with an aptitude for equipping and empowering others to share in the ministry. Most of all, the individual we seek will yearn to ensure that each child and youth they encounter experiences Cloverdale United Church as a loving, welcoming, and safe space for themselves and for all God’s children. The position is a part-time salaried position, with the expectation of approximately 12 working hours per week, including around 3 hours on Sunday mornings. The hoped-for start date for the position is on or about September 1, 2023. Come and be a part of a cohesive team that embraces our children and youth, faithfully seeks to live and love as Jesus’ disciples, and courageously hopes to join with what God is up to in our community!
