The Pacific Mountain Regional Council is seeking an individual to fill the role of Animator Rural and Indigenous Communities on a permanent part-time basis, 21 hours per week.
The Animator Rural and Indigenous Communities is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Camp Spirit summer staff, North/Rural and will work collaboratively with the Camp Spirit Executive Director. Areas of focus will be:
- Development and Leadership:Â Â Work collaboratively and build relationships with leadership within the areas who have expressed interest in planning a Camp Spirit day camp in their community specifically in rural and Indigenous communities in PMRC; Empower and support local youth and young adults to participate as leaders in Camp Spirit Ministry; Encourage youth and young adults to participate in local and regional YAYA events (and attend these events to support and deepen relationships particularly with them); Participate in promoting, recruiting and hiring process for Rural Indigenous Camp staff team as required; Support the coordination and implementation of the Youth Crew program, training retreat, application process, hiring, and registration specifically keeping in mind the needs of the Rural/Indigenous Camp Spirit communities; Oversee, train and work collaboratively as Camp Spirit Director for the staff team supporting the Rural and Indigenous Camp Spirit Sites; Help to coordinate and facilitate, with Program Directors led by the Camp Spirit Executive Director, an in-depth leadership training and end of summer closure for Summer Staff Â
- Connection and Support: Keep the Executive Director apprised of plans for Rural and Indigenous Camp Spirit Ministry and collaborate to support the needs and expectations of these communities; Determine Camp Spirit sites for the Camp Spirit Summer Day camps, building relationships with potential and existing site coordinators and participating churches in the Camp Spirit Ministry for the Rural and Indigenous sites; Provide a written bi-monthly report to the Camp Spirit Oversight Team, with updates and  recommendations; and Networking and building relationships with Communities of Faith
- Communication and Administration: Oversee and collaborate with the administrator to advertise and start up registration process for campers by March 1st of every year; Communicate Camp Spirit Vision through the website, social media, and promotional materials; Ensure the promotion of Program Director Positions, Summer Staff Positions and Youth Crew Positions; Ensure the Camp Spirit Email is monitored; Ensure promotional materials are organized and distributed to Summer hosting sites; Oversee the Administrator coordinating Camp Spirit Financial agreements and Insurance papers with each of the partnering sites; Establish curriculum and resources for summer sites; and Manage within budget for program and material expenses
